I've seen this come up a few times in various places so I figured I would make it its own post for search purposes. Most EQ copies came with the paper map, but Best Buy had a cloth map exclusive. It's a bit bigger than the Kunark one so I tried to show a rough comparison. I've seen paper maps, but remember a cloth original map with just the 3 continents. Also, does anyone have a idea where I could find one? Looking to buy one for a friend from Christmas and haven't seen one on eBay for over 3 months. Was there a Velious cloth map or just plastic/paper? I ebayed around a bit and noticed there was a cloth map from later expansions but I'm not *too* interested in those. And I am the shiznit!
Velious Cloth Map
I actually bought the Velious box a couple years ago specifically for the map since I like to frame and hang up video game artwork. There was definitely no cloth map in the Velious box. Unless there's a deluxe version of the Velious box or something, I'm guessing that's a non-official map. __________________. I could be mistaken but there were only two packages that contained cloth maps. The Kunark box and the Gold box (PoP era release). I'm very sure that the original Velious box included a map on poster material, not cloth. I don't think the vanilla box had either. Good luck.
