ssd not booting after cloning
I am trying to clone my existing 1 TB laptop HDD (Inspiron 7460) to a new WD Blue M.2 2280 500 GB SSD using the Acronis True Image WD Edition software, which I downloaded from WD support website. I need to make the new SSD bootable on Win10 after the cloning is done (instead of my older HDD). The cloning was successful, but when I replace the old SSD with the new SSD which contains the cloned data, it doesn't boot up. It's stuck at the initial screen saying "Repairing disk errors. This might take over an hour to complete." I installed and cloned the SSD drive using Macrium Reflect. Both drives are 1T and are just over half full after cloning. I initialized the drive, set a drive letter and change the boot sequence so the SSD is the primary boot. The system boots to my old HDD. I have tried to clone the operating system onto the SN750 M.2 drive. Once I set the boot order, I get the blue screen and have to resort to booting into the older drive. Any Suggestions?
Shutdown, disconnect all drives except new nvme drive and try to boot into windows. After successful boot into windows, you can reconnect old drives and delete efi system partition from 2TB.
